Text Bible Translation

RESOURCES

Scribe offers a variety of translation resources to help translators with their work. In addition to the available online resources on Scribe, the translator can upload files from local storage as a reference for his translation work.

Scribe assists translators in gaining access to the best resources in as many languages as possible and completing translation projects with speed and quality.

TYPES OF RESOURCES

The following resources are available on Scribe

BIBLE

There are three tabs once you click on the Bible:

BIBLE, RESOURCE, COLLECTION

To download the Bible of your choice through, RESOURCE tab.

Resources from the Bible are displayed in English by default; to download resources in other languages, follow the instructions.

  • Click on the Resource tab
  • Select the Language from the language drop-down
  • Choose the Bible or Aligned Bible from the type drop-down
  • Select the download icon

Once you click the Bible tab, the downloaded Bible will be at the top of the list. This allows you to keep track of the resources that have been downloaded. You can also choose a Bible by entering information such as Language and type into the window provided in the Resource section. By clicking on the Bible tab, you will be able to access the downloaded Bible for reference.

To upload resources from local through , COLLECTION tab

Scripture burrito enabled resource folder is needed for this. How to create Scripture Burrito folder?

You can also refer to resources from your local computer by uploading them to Scribe.

  • Click on the COLLECTION tab to import resources from local storage
  • Click on Select Folder
  • Select the file from your Computer that you want to upload
  • Select the upload option You'll be able to see the file if you click the BIBLE tab.

To download the other reference Resources

Following resources can be used both online and offline: Translation Notes, Translation Words, Translation Questions, Translation Academy and OBS resources

Users can access these resources online by simply clicking on them. However, it's important to note that for online usage, an internet connection is required throughout the resource's usage.

Steps for downloading Resources

  • Hover over the Translation Notes resources for the desired language
  • On the right-hand side, click the download icon download
  • The chosen resource will be downloaded, and a message saying Resource download finished will appear at the bottom left
  • The downloaded resource will appear at the top of the resource list under Downloaded Resources
  • In the Downloaded Resources there is a refresh icon refresh that allows you to check for updates
    • If updates are available, the resource will be updated to the most recent version
    • If no updates are available, a pop-up message will appear stating No updates available
  • Click the Trash bin icon to remove unused resources trashbin

Bible Translation Words list and OBS Translation Words List can be used Online only (Refer Translotion Word List).

Scribe currently supports Translation Notes (online and offline) in different languages.

This section offers a list of key biblical terms.

Steps to refer Translation Words List

  • Open the project and, click on the new layout icon
  • In the new column, click on the resource selector or load a module
  • This action will open the Resource page
  • From there, select the Translation Word List for the language you need
  • The chosen resource will then appear in the reference column

TRANSLATION WORDS

(Available Online and offline)

The list of translation words is divided into three categories:

KT-Key Terms - This list includes a number of important words from the Bible, along with definitions, translation suggestions, Bible references, and word data.

Names - This list contains facts, Bible references, examples from Bible stories, and word data about people in the Bible.

Other – This is a list of additional Bible terms. The definition, Bible references, and word data are all included in the list.

TRANSLATION QUESTION

(Available online and offline)

This resource category contains questions that are designed to help translators in analyzing and understanding specific Bible books.

TRANSLATION ACADEMY

(Available Online and offline)

Translation Academy is a resource for Bible translation information and instruction for translators.

OPEN BIBLE STORIES (OBS)

Open Bible Stories is a collection of key Bible stories available for translation in easy-to-understand text.

There are three tabs once you click on the Open Bible Stories

OBS, RESOURCE, COLLECTION

To download the Bible story of your choice, through RESOURCE tab

Resources from the Bible are displayed in English by default; to download resources in other languages, follow the instructions.

  • Click on the RESOURCE tab
  • Choose the story you want to download
  • Select the download icon

The downloaded Bible story will appear in the OBS tab. This allows you to keep track of the resources that have been downloaded. You can also choose a OBS by selecting Language in the Resource section. By clicking on the OBS tab, you will be able to access the downloaded OBS story for reference.

OBS translation notes provide interpretive information for stories to assist translators with their translation work.

AUDIO

Steps to import the Audio resource

Scripture burrito enabled resource folder is needed for this. How to create Scripture Burrito folder?

  • Open the project and, within the editor pane, click on the new layout icon
  • In the new column, click on the resource selector
  • This action will open the Resource page
  • Select Audio
  • Click on the COLLECTION tab to import resources from local storage
  • Click on Select Folder
  • Select the file from your computer that you want to upload
  • Select the upload option

You'll be able to see the file if you click the Audio tab.
